Shep simply said, “The pleasure is ours.” Supporting young minds, without question, is a major priority today, and plays a huge role in shaping the future of the electronics industry.
Shep has been fostering intelligent young individuals through supporting Cybersonics financially as well as giving some of the young people an opportunity to apply their skills on the job at AR in Souderton, PA. Several members of the Cybersonics team have held intern positions and some have gone on to work full time for AR!
The team also brought along their award winning robot that was recently used in a competition held at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in Philadelphia, PA. The team won the Creativity Award sponsored by Xerox during this event. Cybersonics recognized that this year’s game was played in a full hemisphere and derived a unique solution. Their automated aiming system utilized an Xbox Kinect to accurately find the target, and they used a steel spring activated by a custom built clutch to shoot the game ball. The event judges stated Cybersonics strong recruitment effort and involvement in the US Future Ready Schools movement all aid in sustaining the program well into the future.
