AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation, world leader in the design and manufacture of broadband, RF amplifiers, is seeking a motivated Customer Service Admin who has the technical skills to serve as the focal point for internal and external customers in AR’s Customer Service and Calibration Lab.

The Technical Customer Service Admin will coordinate repairs and calibrations with customers, providing them with information such as standard repair rates, calibration and spare parts costs, calculating applicable taxes, RMA numbers, and gather project status information from the Service team to update customers and manage their expectations.  The Admin will enter and track information related to repair, spare parts and calibration services as well as process quotations and invoices. 

Excellent customer communication and computer skills are required to communicate with internal and external customers as well as a background and willingness to increase technical skills as it relates to AR products. Attention to detail is key.

High School diploma or GED required and technical background preferred.

AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation, world leader in the design & manufacture of broadband, RF amplifiers, has an exciting opportunity for a Customer Support and Calibration Lab Manager in the Customer Service department. This technical position provides customers around the world with RMAs for warranty, non-warranty, spare parts orders, and equipment calibrations.

Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage and train team of Service and Calibration Technicians and Service Admins on RMAs for RF Amplifiers, Probes, and RF accessories and spare part Sales Orders.
  • Assist team with unusual repair problems, billing, tax, and shipping issues as they arise.
  • Coordinate spare parts refurbishment, monitor for component shortages, and resolve spare part stock shortages.
  • Develop repair methodologies or Engineering Change Requests for products.
  • Ability to interface, diffuse, and resolve issues with difficult and/or unsatisfied customers.
  • Prepare customer quotations, estimate repair turnaround times, establish spare part pricing, review invoices and service repair reports, and monitor progress on approx. 100 in-process RMAs.
  • Maintain Calibration Lab in accordance with all A2LA accreditation requirements, ISO/IEC 17025:2017, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994, and serve as technical lead for Probe calibrations and yearly A2LA audits.

Basic Requirements:

  • AA or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school.
  • 5-years related supervisory experience required.
  • Management experience in a Customer Service department in the electronics industry preferred.
  • Must be able to read engineering drawings, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, sweep generator, power meters, DVM/VOM, and power supplies.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP system, Dynamic AX or D365 preferred.

  • Develop and drive the implementation of a lean strategy to reduce inventory, lead-time, and waste to increase throughput and output
  • Lead Value Stream workshops
  • Facilitate process improvement initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for reducing costs and improving productivity
  • Facilitate the planning and implementation of workplace flow and layout, equipment installations, modifications, and moves according to Lean concepts
  • Organize and measure the progress of improvement initiatives and ensure plant wide consistency
  • Implement manufacturing best practices
  • Leverage the ERP system to achieve goals

Requirements:

  • Relevant manufacturing or engineering degree required
  • Must understand lean manufacturing and have experience with Lean methodology (Continuous Improvement, Value Stream Analysis, Kaizen, 5s) and a proven track record of successful implementation
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of proven continuous improvement experience
  • Project management experience required
  • Experience with ERP systems a must, preferably MS D365
  • Must be proficient in MS Office applications
  • Must have the ability to plan and prioritize activities
  • Electronics manufacturing experience preferred
